My name is Nyla Tolbert. I go by "Nye" more frequently than not.

I created Kink Chronicles as a way to address the many questions and misconceptions that revolve around BDSM and the kink lifestyle. Throughout the years I've spent exploring and navigating the various spaces within the BDSM community, I noticed there wasn't as prominent a place for marginalized identities to voice their concerns and perspectives about the lifestyle. And that the few I did see were not getting much traction or views.
As a Black Bisexual individual, I felt I could do something to counteract this imbalance by creating a space where Black, Latinx, POC individuals could come to and voice their opinions and learn more about the lifestyle. This space would allow them to create connections and spread awareness of the lack of intersectional perspectives in many BDSM spaces and the limited educational resources available to Black, POC, Latinx folx.

Getting information from people who didn't look like me and who didn't face similar issues when engaging in BDSM was heartbreaking. This blog is my answer to that.
